Welcome to the Alameda Photographic Society

We invite you to explore photography through friendship, workshops, competition and learning programs. Look around, get to know our photographers, our mission, places we visit and the excitement of expression; better yet come to one of our meetings and see for yourself.

Visitors are always welcome at our meetings. We meet semi-monthly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. at 2441 San Jose Ave. in Alameda, CA (with the exception of December and the fourth Tuesday in July).  Look for the side door of the First Christian Church.  It says Fellowship Hall; just come up the stairs to find our group.  To Compete with your images and have trained judges provide feedback, Join our Club CLICK HERE for the application, and pay your dues with the link below.

You can also join our Meet-up for meeting announcements:  http://www.meetup.com/Alameda-Photographic-Society/

Pictorial Inter-club Competition  October 18 - Six images were selected out of 20 submitted by 10 club members to go on to the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Pictorial Inter-club Competition at the end of this month. PSA rules required that we submit six of the 20 by six different makers. This will be the first of four quarterly submissions by our club. Thanks go to our three club judges, Terry Toomey, Paul Hampton, and Allen Hirsch, who picked 1st through 4th place and 2 Honorable Mentions to go on to PSA. (The judges, by the way, were not among entrants.) Thanks also go to all club members who submitted their images for consideration. The Board encourages all members to submit their favorite images for the next PSA Pictorial submission, to be announced next month.

Names of the winners and thumbnails of their selected images are visible on our website CLICK HERE, where they can be expanded to larger format. Ignore the "Masters Level" designation: A single arbitrary level had to be chosen by PSA rules.

Northern California Council of Camera Clubs

The Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C) is the umbrella organization for 11 San Francisco Bay Area camera clubs, whose members comprise photography enthusiasts—beginners, amateurs and professionals.

N4C provides an opportunity to grow photographically and compete at an inter-club level. Most individual member clubs hold their own local monthly judged competitions in two photographic mediums, Prints and Projected Images, and in various subject matter.

Join in the fun with N4C and their local camera clubs. Participate in field trips, seminars, and workshops, share learning experiences and camaraderie among fellow photographers in your area! We use the N4C competition definitions and rules for all of our competitions.
