Monday, November 27th - Reinhardt Regional Redwood Park Ladybugs
How long has it been since you took yourself for a walk in the woods? Maybe a while.... Well, it's ladybug season and it's a great time for a walk along the Stream Trail in Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park in Oakland. That's where we're going on our next field trip! :
You will most certainly find ladybugs. More than that, you'll experience all the signs of autumn as they play out in our local redwood forest. There's plenty to photograph and the bonus is that you will come away with all of the physical and mental benefits of a walk in the woods.
The walk from the Canyon Meadow Staging Area parking lot along the Stream Trail to the area where the ladybugs can be seen is about 1.5 miles. For the most part, the trail is flat. That said, the last 5 minutes before reaching the ladybugs does include a couple of small hills.
