Welcome to the Alameda Photographic Society
We invite you to explore photography through friendship, workshops, competition and learning programs. Look around, get to know our photographers, our mission, places we visit and the excitement of expression; better yet come to one of our meetings and see for yourself.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings.
We meet semi-monthly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:15 p.m. at 2441 San Jose Ave. in Alameda, CA (with the exception of December and the fourth Tuesday in July). Look for the side door of the First Christian Church. It says Fellowship Hall; just come up the stairs to find our group.
To compete with your images and have trained judges provide feedback, join our Club. CLICK HERE to download the application, or CLICK HERE to pay your dues with PayPal.

Competition nights are on 2nd Tuesdays (Not in December). Program nights are on the 4th Tuesdays (not in December).
Speeding up Competition Nights -- Beginning in February 2017, we will try something new to help keep competition nights to a reasonable duration. We will not read aloud the image titles during the critique. Due to the increasing number of categories per night (per N4C category scheduling), and the increase in the number of participants, we want to make sure the competitions do not go too long as well as giving our judges a bit more time to critique.
PSA Interclub Competition -- The competition for the first round in Creative is now open for entries via our APS website competition section. To be considered for the competition you must submit your two images by midnight Monday January 9, 2016.
Field Trip Hold Harmless Agreement - In order to participate in APS Field Trips we are now requiring that each attendee have a signed Hold Harmless Agreement on file with the club's Treasurer.
IMPORTANT NEWS - We have changed the monthly APS Competition upload deadlines - To help keep the competition evenings running as smooth as possible and timely, we will be encouraging our guest judges to preview the competition images before the actual competition time. It is thought that by previewing the images, the judge can better focus on the critiques in a more concise manner. In order to provide this early preview capability, we will need to close the competition upload center sooner to Monday night (midnight) for the next day’s Tuesday night competition.
